My Narrative Writing
This week Mr. Mitchell told us we had to pick a number from 50 selected story summaries. The link is here:
https://sites.google.com/a/hornby.school.nz/mt/7write
https://sites.google.com/a/hornby.school.nz/mt/7write
I picked 22, I had to write a made up story about a dangerous experience.
This is my writing:
22 - A dangerous experience
I was on my way to school, and Mum was acting weirdly when she was driving. Suddenly, she passed out! I had to steer the wheel, so I unbuckled my seatbelt and leaped into the front seat to help steer the wheel… I did it! I managed to get mums foot of the pedal and I steered the wheel until it was safe. I got Mums phone and called 111 so she could get an ambulance…
“Hello, what’s your emergency?” The person on the other line said.“Hi, uhh yes I’ve almost been in a crash with my mum and she passed out, we are on waterloo road! Near the school I go to, Hornby High School, I need an ambulance for my mum immediately!” I said as I panicked. I waited and waited and… An ambulance came!!! I was never so happy to see an ambulance in my life! But… It just went right past us.
Oh I know! I have to signal something so they know I’m here with my mum. I take Mum out of the car onto the sidewalk so the ambulance can see Mum and I. The ambulance sees us! I see the ambulance coming towards us…
I wake up and I’m in my bed with my mum telling me to get up and get ready for school…

The Goody Gum Drop Land vs The Creamy Vanilla Heaven
In Week 4 Mr. Mitchell (My Teacher) Bought Ice cream for us to write about, it was vanilla Ice Cream. This Week Mr. Mitchell bought ice cream again for us to taste and write about.
This weeks Ice Cream was Goody gum drops.
I have put both my Finals on this blog post for you to read.
Here's the Goody Gum Drops:
The Ice cream looked so creamy and gooey like it was a slime monster that was edible and delicious! It smells like a minty world mixed with a lolly land that I can live in forever.
The ice cream is named goody gum drops for a reason, the lollies are so chewy
like bubblegum frozen like a Popsicle. The gum drops look like skittles if they
were frozen in a minty ice cream heaven! It tastes like a minty meltdown that has turned
into gooey goo that is devouring the gum drops like a lion devours its prey. The ice cream
is so yum it’s like I can’t stop thinking about how mouthwatering and how palatable it is.
It’s so tummy-twisting that I can’t help myself but eat more! I think that you should buy
goody gum drops so you can try it for yourself. Make sure to save me some Aha.
Now here's the Vanilla Writing:
The ice cream tasted like a creamy meltdown in my mouth, like a tasty luscious
mountain of snow! The ice cream looked as silky as a scarf made of scales and wool.
The ice cream smelled as minty as a snowman made of a pack of minty bubblegum!
The ice cream felt like an icy piece of vanilla chocolate that was melted up into loads of mini
frosted treats! It was really delightful to taste and it was a real treat to have! I loved eating
the ice cream because it was like I was in the middle of a room made of delectable ice cream
and it was like I was in an all you can eat buffet! In conclusion, I would say buy this ice cream because this ice cream is completely and utterly amazing if you want to buy a treat for
yourself, it’s cheap and definitely worth the indescribable flavour!
Now, I want you to decide which one you think is better?

Athletics Day!!!
Yesterday was athletics day. On athletics day we have to do 6 events. The events are, Discuss, Shot put, Long Distance, High Jump, Long Jump and Sprints. We had to do Sprints before lunch time, and when I did Sprints I came second to last. After lunch time we started the events, first up was Shot put. I'm not sure which place I came in Shot put but I know it was fun.
Next thing was Long Distance. In Long Distance, we had to do four laps around the field but to make sure no one was cheating we had to run across a white line. I came fourth and I was proud of myself because four is my lucky number.
Next thing was Discuss, in Discuss we had to line up in a line. It was less than half a minute before it was my turn. When I was up I threw the Discuss and it wasn't that far, we had to go into different lines after our turn was finished. I went into the line all the way on the left, and some people went in the line all the way on the right. When we all had one turn each, the 10 year old boys had to line up again and do it again. When they were finished it was time to go to the next event, Ms Scott said that we (the 11 year old boys) would have to come to the field at lunch time the next day.
The next thing up was High jump. At High jump, Mr. Martin had put the bar at 50cm up. It wasn't that high, we all were able to jump over it. Next, He put it up to 80 cm. I was able to jump over it. Then he put it up to 90 cm and I wasn't able to jump over it.
Next thing is Long jump. Long jump was the last thing for Athletics day, and I was surprisingly bad at it considering I always jump around all the time. When I jumped the first time it was a practice jump, but it was probably better than my second jump. Once I was about to jump for the second time, I thought to myself, 'What do other people do to make them go farther?' I looked at the person going next, it was Lasa, I looked to see if he did anything to make him jump farther. He didn't, he just jumped and hoped. So that's what I did, but I got 2.1. most of the other 11 year old boys had a bigger number than me. I didn't worry about, I was happy that I had fun.
It went pretty good but I mainly felt really happy knowing that my Mum was there to cheer for me. My favourite part of the day was Long distance because I did four laps without stopping and I came fourth which isn't bad. Next year I won't be here for athletics but hopefully at the High School there are some sort of fun.

For the past few weeks I have been collecting exciting information about the solar system and I have created a slideshow about 3 big questions we all would love to know. I have made it into a slideshow because I wanted it to be more interesting and exciting. I have added pictures in so it can look better. Hopefully you like it because I put a lot of work into it. Here it is, I hope you enjoy it.

Freak The Mighty Tony D. Character Description
The picture below is a character description that I have written about a character from the book Freak the Mighty. The character is Tony D., this character description is a work in progress so it might change later. The purpose of me showing all of you is so that I can get feedback. If anyone has any questions or any comments, I would like it if you comment down below because feedback is one thing that I need. Freak the mighty is written by Rodman Philbrick. The reason I am reading Freak the mighty is because in my class, I am in literacy group 2 and we get to read novels to make D.L.O's about those novels, last term I read Number the stars by Lois Lowry.
